Hello ZE, I would like to push some Greaters with my gen Monk but im pretty confused when i watch the leaderboards since there are many different variations. Some go with AS whereever its possible while others are focusing on Area Damage or Cdr. Even the skills and equipped or cubed items are different. Is there a main thing to focus on? Something like Attack speed breakpoints or other stuff? And does someone got an written guide on diablofans or something? Thanks for ur help

Hello itzdeaster!
There are different setups for different kind of brackets to push in with the generator monk. First there is the setup that is using attack speed rolls on all pieces of gear, this is only used for pushing in 3 or 4-man group. Your main role in this kind of greater rift is to kill the boss and big elites as fast as possible, therefore you stack attack speed to stack Bane of the Stricken faster, whereas the Witch Doctor in your party will handle the rest!
The second and third setups with Area Damage or CDR (or borth!) are used for solo pushing mainly, since you do not have very good rift clearing speed but insane single-target DPS your main focus here is to clear the greater rifts trash mobs as fast as possible.
There is a lot more to it, but I hope this explains some of the questions you have, I strongly encourage you to keep being curious and hopefully you dig deeper into the mechanics of the monk class. I hope you take your time to study this more, as there is a lot to learn and find out about the game and how it all works. Best of luck to you in the future!

First of all, thanks pretty much for ur quick answer and help. Yes this helped me alot. Now i know that i will stack cdr and area dmg for my solo Grift.
What you said sounds like i want to skip nearly all elites and only kill the trash mobs, is that right? (confusing, cause you said that i have insane single target dps) And how important is Life per Hit in your opinion? (in solo greaters)

In the absolute highest tiers of solo you will have a hard time killing any elites without the help of a pylon, therefore you will find yourself having to skip most elites to not waste time. It's very common and almost an absolute necessity to use at least one weapon that has LPH rolled on it to survive in very high tiers, it comes down mostly to your personal preference however, do what fits your playstyle best.
Best of luck with the era/season and your solo greater rifts!

Thank you very much, helped me alot.
I have two last question about the skills. Do i take only CW as my generator or also WotHF? Saw both variations in the leaderboards. And whats about serenity, is that only for groups?
Sorry for my stupid questions...
Thank you!
